To me Best Care is about working together as a team to ensure we deliver safe care. Recognising each and every persons’ role is critically important for the provision of Best Care for our patients.
A good example of living Best Care I have been involved in during the past year is supporting teamwork across the divisions that ensures mothers and babies receive Best Care. Collaboration and co-ordination across divisions was evident when a mother presented to our Maternity Assessment Centre (MAC) with a life threatening condition. The neonatal, theatre, midwifery and ICU teams worked collaboratively to provide exceptional care. The care provided to this mother highlighted the importance of staff working collaboratively. Being able to achieve a positive outcome for this patient was amazing and the staff support, encouragement and the camaraderie was second to none. We should be so proud to be a part of WH and, as a team, we support the provision of Best Care for every patient.
