Compliment of the Week – 7 May 2021

Every single staff member at Western Health – either directly or indirectly, whether clinical staff, non-clinical staff or volunteer - makes a contribution every day to supporting the provision of Best Care and the best experience for our patients. Compliments are real examples of our staff providing Best Care. Through our 'compliment of the week' we acknowledge staff who successfully translate our Vision of delivering Best Care into day-to-day behaviours.

Our vision of Best Care is to provide person-centred, co-ordinated, right and safe care for every patient, every time, everywhere.  Delivering Best Care within the complexity of our health system is not always easy.  We would like to recognise the provision of Best Care by staff working at the Western Health COVID Vaccination Hubs.  We share the recognition and thanks that was sent to Western Health by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) with a specific mention of the skills and flexibility of Kylie Roper and her team at the Melbourne Airport Hub.

On behalf of the members of the AFP, I would like to take this opportunity to thank your staff for your valuable assistance with the delivery of the COVID-19 vaccinations to our staff within Victoria.

The last 12 months have been a dynamic and challenging period for front line and emergency service workers, and I appreciate the additional pressure the delivery of swift and prioritised vaccinations has placed on your organisation.

On a personal note, I would like to take this opportunity to extend my appreciation to Ms Kylie Roper, Vaccination Hub Manager.  When requested, the flexibility of Ms Roper and her team enabled me to complete my course of vaccination in accordance with the necessary schedule, whilst travelling interstate.  My second shot was delivered at Melbourne Airport and the dedication to the task at hand is impressive.

Yours sincerely,

Commissioner
