Every single staff member at Western Health – either directly or indirectly, whether clinical staff, non-clinical staff or volunteer – makes a contribution every day to supporting the provision of Best Care and the best experience for our patients. Compliments are real examples of our staff providing Best Care. Through our ‘compliment of the week’ we acknowledge staff who successfully translate our Vision of delivering Best Care into day-to-day behaviours.
Our vision of Best Care is to provide person-centred, co-ordinated, right and safe care for every patient, every time, everywhere. Delivering Best Care within the complexity of our health system is not always easy. We would like to recognise provision of Best Care by the staff of the Emergency Department and JKWC at Sunshine Hospital. We share the words of appreciation from Julia, reflecting the care provided during her recent hospital admission.
Just wanted to say big thanks to the Emergency department of Sunshine Hospital who treated me for my early pregnancy bleeding.
They were patient and caring from both triage to the doctors and nurses.
I received a call from Joan Kirner next morning from the most bubbly and positive nurse who booked me in for a 10:30am appointment right away. On arrival she ensured my husband was able to join as it’s my first pregnancy. She knew my name and ensured I felt reassured. In my panic I didn’t catch her name but she was working on Wednesday 20 April, morning shift.
The Sonographers and Doctors were also lovely.
Thanks again for a calm and reassuring experience.
