Every single staff member at Western Health – either directly or indirectly, whether clinical staff, non-clinical staff or volunteer - makes a contribution every day to supporting the provision of Best Care and the best experience for our patients. Compliments are real examples of our staff providing Best Care. Through our 'compliment of the week' we acknowledge staff who successfully translate our Vision of delivering Best Care into day-to-day behaviours.

Our vision of Best Care is to provide person-centred, co-ordinated, right and safe care for every patient, every time, everywhere.  Delivering Best Care within the complexity of our health system is not always easy.  We would like to recognise the provision of Best Care by Amy Milledge, a nurse working in the Sunshine Emergency Department, and share the words of appreciation we received from Nicholas.

Just wanted to give positive feedback to the nurse yesterday (Wed 30 June 2021) that went around taking people’s blood pressure in the emergency waiting room (between 1-4pm). I didn’t catch her name, but after my wife Robin saw an OBG, that same nurse that took blood pressure in the waiting room earlier in the day, took my wife’s blood for a blood test (around pm). She was really friendly and nice, and made the stressful day much easier to deal with. She mentioned she was doing a double shift that day so I hope this feedback gets passed to her and her superiors.
