COMPLIMENT OF THE WEEK – 17 September 2021

Every single staff member at Western Health – either directly or indirectly, whether clinical staff, non-clinical staff or volunteer - makes a contribution every day to supporting the provision of Best Care and the best experience for our patients. Compliments are real examples of our staff providing Best Care. Through our 'compliment of the week' we acknowledge staff who successfully translate our Vision of delivering Best Care into day-to-day behaviours.


Our vision of Best Care is to provide person-centred, co-ordinated, right and safe care for every patient, every time, everywhere.  Delivering Best Care within the complexity of our health system is not always easy.  We would like to recognise the provision of Best Care by the Pharmacy Team, and we share the words of praise from Karen about the care and hard work she has witnessed as a colleague.

You go above and beyond every day!

Putting lovely post it notes so we don’t forget to give patients their own medications back. Following up pick up times when you’re doing phone consults, saving me so much time on unnecessary 2nd calls. Liaising with us to prioritise early/predicted discharge. Communicating with medical staff and tagging on our inquiries. Working tirelessly to get every script, chart and order ready!

Helping us organise the next day. Communicating with us when you are informed of a possible or agreed discharge or handed a script for discharge where we were not (or not yet) made aware. Following up and reviewing all med orders for comprised swallowing and altered diet/fluids… The list could go on forever!

You are an example of an exemplary collaborative member of a successful multidisciplinary team!
