We would like to recognise provision of Best Care by the HITH staff


Every single staff member at Western Health – either directly or indirectly, whether clinical staff, non-clinical staff or volunteer – makes a contribution every day to supporting the provision of Best Care and the best experience for our patients. Compliments are real examples of our staff providing Best Care. Through our ‘compliment of the week’ we acknowledge staff who successfully translate our Vision of delivering Best Care into day-to-day behaviours.

Our vision of Best Care is to provide person-centred, co-ordinated, right and safe care for every patient, every time, everywhere.  Delivering Best Care within the complexity of our health system is not always easy.  We would like to recognise provision of Best Care by the HITH staff. We share the words of appreciation from Jordan and family, reflecting the care provided to their mother Andrea during her recent COVID diagnosis.

My mother was diagnosed with COVID19. She is also at risk due to being Aboriginal and her lower immune system as a result of her cancer treatment from a few years ago. Our families focus went straight to how we are going to support her due to my father working full-time, my sister lives interstate and I work full-time and live an hour away. A referral was put into HITH and they have been fantastic, not only with the service but being proactive about reaching out and organising doctor opinions and additional medications. It has really reduced the stress on the family and mum feels extremely supported I could thank the entire HITH team enough for what they are doing to support not only mum but the whole family.
