COMPLIMENT OF THE WEEK – 12 November 2021

Every single staff member at Western Health – either directly or indirectly, whether clinical staff, non-clinical staff or volunteer - makes a contribution every day to supporting the provision of Best Care and the best experience for our patients. Compliments are real examples of our staff providing Best Care. Through our 'compliment of the week' we acknowledge staff who successfully translate our Vision of delivering Best Care into day-to-day behaviours.

Our vision of Best Care is to provide person-centred, co-ordinated, right and safe care for every patient, every time, everywhere.  Delivering Best Care within the complexity of our health system is not always easy.  We would like to recognise the provision of Best Care by the Bacchus Marsh Day Procedure Unit and Kitchen Staff, and we share the story and words of appreciation from Marigold regarding the care she received.

Marigold was a bit wary due to previous experiences at another health service.

She noted her experience at Bacchus Marsh Hospital was good in every way and that all the staff were lovely.

The anesthetist spent time listening to her medical story, and she was happy with the surgeon.

Most of all, Marigold mentioned, “An astonishing and lovely thing, was the quality of the sandwiches served when I woke from the procedure.

Loved the cup of tea, and the sandwiches were just wonderful. Apparently they are made onsite in the kitchen at the hospital.

They showed careful thought for taste and variety, and were in a nice ‘delicate’ plastic packaging.

I thought I’d include that comment as kitchen staff are not seen, I’d love you to pass the compliment onto them.”

Thank you all for providing an overall lovely experience.
