Patients

To provide Best Care for patients, we must constantly put them first, listen to them and their families and in partnership, constantly review, enhance and improve the care we deliver.

What is important to patients and their families about receiving Best Care is therefore the most important element of our Best Care vision.

Our patient statements on what person-centred, co-ordinated, right and safe care means to them were written in partnership with our consumers, and guide how our front-line staff provide Best Care, how managers & senior clinicians lead Best Care, and how the executive and board govern Best Care.

Wherever possible, our patient statements on receiving Best Care are used to promote, measure and report Best Care.

What this means for every patient, every time, everywhere is that:

  • to receive person-centred care, they are seen and treated as a person
  • to receive co-ordinated care, they receive help, treatment and information when they need it and in a co-ordinated way
  • to receive right care, they receive care that makes them feel better
  • to receive safe care, they feel safe
